Recently I noticed many giving their URL as small shortented form sometimes no relation with their actual URL.That is with the help of bitly. All links shared via bitly allow users to view complete, real-time traffic and analytics data. bitly also powers more than 10,000 custom short URLs and offers an enterprise analytics service that helps web publishers and brands grow their social media traffic.

You need to sign up for the service and provide username,e-mail address,and password.They type your URL and they will provide your new URL.They also provide service to cutomize your own way to write your URL.Otherwise they provide the name .Now you can find me on http://bit.ly/ovku4N.

UNIX : unpack and pack using tar

Tarball or tar is a utility in linux to unpack or pack the files. Lets say we have a file name hello.tar.gz which is packed and compressed. To unpack the file use the below command > tar xvzf hello.tar.gz This is unpack the compressed tarball file to the directory hello in current location. To pack a list of files to a compressed tarball file , we can follow the below steps. Let say we have the following list of files in Hello directory. > cd Hello > ls helloworld.py README.txt Move back to parent directory and give the below command. > cd .. > tar zcvf hello.tar.gz Hello This will create the compressed tar file in the current location
