How to format hardisk in ubuntu?

To format hardisk in ubuntu , you can use Gparted partition editor

1. Install gparted in the system
~$ sudo apt-get install gparted

2. Open the application through terminal.

3. Gparted will list all the partitions and the filesystem it is holding. Right click on the desired partition and format it.
